Best Of (Alumni Choices)

    Best Pizza
    Ben's Pizza, 177 Spring St.

"I go to Ben's about once a week. The pizza is wonderful. Cheap and very good. True NY pizza. The guys that work there are super funny. Don't go there if you are looking for some trendy joint. It's just a pizza place! It is good on the run too." --one of the Ben's Pizza Goers.

    Best Hot Dogs
Gray's Papaya, 402 Sixth Ave at 8th Street

"For almost 30 years, Gray's Papaya has been a New York favorite. Okay, it is just a hot dog joint, but Gray's fare has been known to be consumed by some big time stars, not to mention loads of regular people. The special is one juicy hot dog with a fruit drink for $1.45, or a single frank for 75 cents for budget diners. Do not worry about waiting for a seat--there are none to be had. Cash only." --Yahoo's review.

    Best Ethnic Food
    Chinatown, Canal Street, Lower Manhattan
Not necessarily the only place to have good Chinese food.
    Greek Food, Astoria, Queens
    Great Greek food, reasonable prices.
Korean Restaurant Row, Herald Square Area, Midtown, Manhattan
A must for good Korean BBQ.
    Little India, three locations
East 6th St. (btw. 1st & 2nd Ave) in Manhattan
74th St. north of Roosevelt Ave. in Queens
Newark Avenue just off of Journal Square in Jersey City
Little Italy, Mulberry St., lower Manhattan by Chinatown
The classic stop for Italian food. Many places serve family style.
