LIVE AT THE WHITNEY WITH PROFESSORS FROM THE CARNEGIE MELLON SCHOOL OF ART

Filed under: Uncategorized — judivitale @ 8:52 pm

What a day we had last Friday at the Whitney.  Professors John Carson and Susanne Slavick took us through the Whitney Biennial.  I must say that some modern art seems to have little or no relevance to me; but this time, the Biennial had a lot to offer.  So much more was brought to the tour experience by having our professors there, as well.  Before the main tour at 3:30, the Andrew Carnegie Society held a luncheon where John and Susanne delivered extensive remarks about what we were about to see on the tour.  We got the good news that these two accessible and intelligent art professors will come back to New York in early October to take us on an art walk to view the works of Carnegie Mellon alumni gallery artists!

MOVIE NIGHT 4/30/08 - A great time was had by all!

Filed under: Uncategorized — judivitale @ 5:36 pm

The “Dinner and a Movie” event continues to grow after another successful event last Wednesday, April 30th. Five NYC Alumni met for a relaxed dinner at Kelly & Ping’s in Soho. We enjoyed some excellent Thai food and refreshing Ginger-Mint martinis (the bartender’s choice, of course). Dinner was followed by a screening of “My Blueberry Nights” at the Angelika where our group grew to about eight people. Although the group had ambivalent feelings about the movie, we are looking forward to many more movies to come!

Stayed tuned for more “Dinner and a Movie” events to come this summer, including free movies in the park! If you have any suggestions for dinner venues or movies, please e-mail Lacey Anderson at
